An-26 CHECKLIST

Panel Options


1. Pre-takeoff

[ ] Set Parking Brake ( Ctrl + . )
[ ] Cargo door, door, cover engine - close.
[ ] Battery ON
[ ] Switch lights ON
[ ] Check fuel status
[ ] Pump 1-2 on
[ ] Throttle to idle position
[ ] Start Engine Generators 1 and 2
[ ] Engine 1-2 start
[ ] Check engine status by increasing RPM then IDLE
[ ] Fasten seatbelts and close all exits.

2. Takeoff

[ ] Taxi to takeoff position and set Park Brake (UPRT 20%)
[ ] Advance throttle to increase engine RPM - check engine status
[ ] Reduce throttle to IDLE
[ ] Set flaps as required (Normal takeoff Position 2 - 30 degrees)
[ ] Check compass reading, instruments and nav/radios
[ ] Request takeoff through ATC
[ ] On clearance, increase RPM to full throttle and release brake
[ ] Keep aircraft on runway centreline and apply up elevator +3
[ ] At 100 m altitude: GEAR UP, then FLAPS UP incrementally as speed increases
[ ] Level aircraft and adjust throttle for desired climb rate

3. CRUISE

[ ] Thrust Levers UPRT -85% speed 220kt
[ ] Autopilot, radio nav, adf -on

4. Landings

[ ] reduce speed to 200 kt and then lower landing gear
[ ] As speed decreases, lower flaps to position 2 (30 degrees) and turn onto final at about 130 kt
[ ] When speed is below 110 kt, set flaps to position 3 (45 degrees), set full flaps
[ ] Use throttle and elevators to control airspeed, descent rate, and correct attitude
[ ] Fly it onto the runway - don't chop the throttle or flare the aircraft before touchdown
[ ] After touchdown, apply brakes (and reverse thrust if desired)
[ ] Leave runway when possible

6. Shut-Down

[ ] Set parking brake
[ ] Check that flaps are in UP position
[ ] Throttle to idle
[ ] Switch OFF radios, nav instruments
[ ] Turn engines OFF
[ ] Switch lights OFF
[ ] Set wings to fold position
[ ] Turn electricals OFF
